At approx 4:45pm on Thursday, May 26, 2005, Cleveland Fire, Police, EMS, U.S. Coast Guard and Ohio Department of Natural Resources Rangers were notified of a car that was located against the wall beside the boat launch at Gordon Park in Cleveland. Gordon Park is part of Lakefront State Park in the Cleveland area.
Cleveland Fire dispatched TAC 5, Rescue 3, 4, Ladder 30, Batallion 2, 6, and Car 741 (Chief of Special Services). Cleveland EMS, Cleveland Police also responsed in case there was someone trapped in the vehicle.
Divers entered the water and determined that the vehicle was empty. The registration was obtained and Law Enforcement officials found out that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
G & M Towing assisted with the removal of the vehicle from the water.
Units cleared the scene around 7:30 pm.
