Feel free to add in a little lemon zest too if you want even more lemon flavor!<\/li>\n<li><strong>garlic<\/strong> \u2013 you can use fresh chopped garlic or minced garlic from the jar.<\/li>\n<li><strong>fresh herbs<\/strong> \u2013 fresh thyme and rosemary really add such a fresh taste to the chicken marinade, but you could use dried thyme, dried rosemary or even dried oregano as well.<\/li>\n<li><strong>salt + pepper<\/strong> \u2013 needed to season the chicken and add flavor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Make Lemon Herb Chicken<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make the marinade.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0In a small bowl or <a href=\"https:\/\/urlgeni.us\/amzn\/cCqHc\">mason jar<\/a>, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, fresh herbs, salt and pepper until all combined.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prepare chicken.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Place chicken in a shallow dish or a 1-gallon sealable plastic bag and pour most of the lemon herb sauce over the chicken (I always suggest reserving a little bit of the sauce to brush on the chicken later while grilling!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marinate!\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Place chicken in the fridge and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 2 hours (lemon is very acidic and will start to breakdown the chicken\u2019s texture so you don\u2019t want to marinate this too long).\u00a0 When ready to grill, remove chicken from the dish or bag, shake off any excess and discard leftover marinade.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grill and serve.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Heat a grill or grill pan on medium heat and brush grill with oil to prevent the chicken from sticking.\u00a0 Grill the chicken 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until cooked through and no longer pink. Cooked chicken should have an internal temp of 165 degrees using a <a href=\"https:\/\/urlgeni.us\/amzn\/E1x0t\">digital thermometer<\/a>. Remove chicken from grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Helpful Tips and Tricks<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 2 hours as the acidity from the lemon juice will breakdown the chicken\u2019s exterior texture resulting in mushy, tough chicken so make sure you don\u2019t exceed 2 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to add a little oil to the grill or grill pan so that the chicken doesn\u2019t stick.<\/li>\n<li>If you don\u2019t want to grill the chicken, you can bake it in the oven at 400 degrees F for 22 to 28 minutes, or until chicken is completely cooked through.<\/li>\n<li>Chicken should have an internal temp of 165 degrees using a <a href=\"https:\/\/urlgeni.us\/amzn\/E1x0t\">digital thermometer<\/a> to ensure that it\u2019s cooked through, but not dry.<\/li>\n<li>Reserve a little bit of marinade (before it touches the chicken) to brush on it while the chicken is grilling for even more flavor.<\/li>\n<li>This lemon herb marinade would taste amazing as a salad dressing as well!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1724\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"This Lemon Herb Grilled Chicken is easily made with just a few simple ingredients for a delicious, healthy meal!
